Hi and thanks for stopping by.
I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Materials Engineering, IISc, Bangalore. The picture was taken on some sand dunes in Death Valley with interesting "dislocations" in the sand ripples.
My research interests are in
dislocation theory and
modeling,
electron microscopy and
atomistic simulations, all in the context of
plastic deformation at various strain rates. We work on structural materials - mostly metallic - used in automotive, aerospace and strategic applications. I teach courses on c
rystal defects and
dynamic deformation. More on all this
here.
I am also involved (along with Abi) in coordinating the activities of the
UGC Networking Resource Center for Materials
Outside academics, I dabble in photography and play bass guitar for a band at IISc.

What about our collaborative project? We have to start from August 01, 2009. I am making things ready for that.

My candidacy exam is on 12th Aug. How is everything at IISc?

Anupriya.
